Hello Ladies and Gents! Yes, I did say Gents because this is my first ever mixed gender fashion post!!! Cant you tell I am excited with all the exclamation marks!!
So to start off I’m going to throw up some fab pieces I’ve seen online that would be perfect for any lady heading off to the races whether you want to wear a dress, jumpsuit or suit I will divide it up into categories to tailor to everyone’s needs.
A jumpsuit can be one of the most versatile pieces in your wardrobe. They can be dressed down with sandals or runners for a more casual look or in this case, dressed up with heels and a clutch bag for a day out. There are loads of styles and colours available online ranging from culotte leg, wide leg, backless just to name a few. I think a jumpsuit is a fab choice if you are on the taller side because they are SUPER flattering to long legs.
I LOVE women in suits! I am wearing one myself this year and I know a few others who are thinking of doing the same. A suit looks super classy and its an outfit you can wear over and over again by mixing and matching the pants and blazer. Pastel suits are a massive trend this season so make sure to pick one up.
A midi dress can come in so many different styles, colours, shapes. They are one of the most versatile types of dresses. Every woman can find a midi dress tailored to her specific preference.
The mini dress is something us gals always tend to revert back to endlessly on nights out, whether is a simple LBD or a pop of colour, we all have that ONE mini dress that makes us feel absolutely A1. Here are a couple of fancy numbers that will take you straight from the race course into town after 😉
FOR THE BOYS……
You cannot go wrong with a well-tailored suit, and I do need to emphasis WELL tailored. There’s nothing worse than seeing a young lad absolutely swimming in a blazer and suit pants because they didn’t bother going to a seamstress. Man up and get fitted pronto!
If you’re looking to jazz up an old classic, try a printed suit. Most of the celebs have been spotted in colour blocked suits, floral, tartan and various exotic prints.
Jeans and a blazer
If you don’t have the funds to fork out for a new suit, maybe just purchase a new blazer and call it a day? Every lad should own at least one pair of skinny jeans/trousers and a white shirt. Polish your shoes and throw on a funky blazer and you’ll be turning heads left, right and centre.
Last but not least, please do not forget to accessorise appropriately! It’s one of the few times you get to go all out so wear a fancy watch or maybe even try a pocket watch. If you aren’t brave enough to wear a floral suit or blazer, try a tie and pocket square set instead. Don’t forget cuff links if you’re wearing a suit jacket and clean the shoes.
